How can I get the suction cup for my Tom Tom GPS to stick to my winshield? It's making me crazy...?
clean the windshield with rubbing alcohol where you plan on sticking it at first. next wet the suction cup with water and stick it to the windshieldA pretty good way is to put vaseline or petroleum jelly at the back of the suction cup and then attach it with some pressure.
usually works1. Make sure the windshield is clean.
2. Make sure the suction cup is clean.
Clean means detergent, ammonia and water. No soap.
3. Make sure the suction cup is the right size for the weight. A small cup will not hold a heavy weight however clean the surfaces are.
4. Make sure the rim of the cup that attaches to the windshield is smooth. Wet the rim and apply. Keep in mind that any air inside the cup will heat and expand if the windshield or the car is in sunlight, so get as much air out as possible (flatten the cup as much as possible).
